STOP BREAKING THE HEDGE- YOUR HEALTH.

He that digs a pit falls into it and he that breaks the hedge the serpent will bite. Ecclesiastes 10: 8. This scripture dropped in my spirit along side another scripture 3rd John 1:2 where John says I pray you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers. The later has always been our confession but without putting our faith and work together, then it is a fruitless and frustrating talk.

First, the word prosper simply means a multiplication of our endeavor. It is a word that helps both good and evil. Evil can prosper and good can also prosper. It all depends on who has put something to work. As such, good does not have the monopoly of prosperity. The line of thought today as I write is prosperity in the health of our mortal bodies.

How do you stay healthy? This is done by applying the right principles to staying healthy. You don’t stay healthy by only confessing it, you stay healthy by making right health choices. Unfortunately, what some Christians do (of which I fell in that category before I got inspired to write this) is confess and load the body with inappropriate food. The book of James says faith without work is dead. Confessing alone does not get the work done! The other part of the scripture says even as your soul prospers. The soul prospers by what it is fed through the mind. The wrong food into the soul kills it. (we’ll review this in another conversation) As Christians we must work out our salvation with seriousness. Phillipians 2:12-13.

Back to the opening scripture, the hedge is supposed to be a form of protection. King Solomon states that once the hedge is broken, the serpent comes in and strikes the owner of the broken hedge alongside all that lives behind it. The serpent in this context can signify bad health, poverty, lack, sicknesses and a whole lot of other things we call evil.

Making bad food choices and loading our bodies with toxins is a gradual way to break the hedge of good health. We are expected to build and not break the hedge. Review the various choices you make daily and ask this simple question – Is this choice building or breaking the hedge? When we build and continue to confess, then the Lord will be committed to fulfill.

Dear friend, in all of this, the mercy of God stands sure. Even when we ignorantly indulge in things that breaks the hedge, He is always faithful to ensure no plague comes near our dwelling. While Abba is committed to ensuring our safety, we should also avoid jumping off the roof because we believe He will not allow us to dash our foot against the stone. But if you decide to continue with bad choices, it simply means we want to cut short our journey of purpose here on the earth and go to be with the Lord.

I pray that this write up bless you my dear friend as we continue to present our bodies a living sacrifice to the Lord. Romans 12;1.

God bless you.
