For a while, the conversation for today will not let me go.

Hello dear reader, it’s been a while. Hope life has been treating you well and plans falling in place for you. Do not be bothered by what you see; the Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11… He will give you an expected end.

For me, I have been busy, I mean so busy that I missed writing both here and on my other blog. However, this week I eventually did for my other blog, and today I’m here to deliver this message that has been on my mind for a while.

The demand for content creation has never been so high as this in the last 10 years. Currently, YouTube says a minimum of 20 million videos are uploaded daily, and what’s the sole aim? To be seen!

Yes, this is an era where everyone wants to be heard and seen. Some are going about it the right way, and of course, we have those in there with ulterior motives. I will be speaking to how it relates to the church and you as a believer.

This period is indeed giving the church a lot of publicity, and we get to see lots of Christian content creators (of which I have joined) come on the scene and proclaim Jesus to the world. Many get saved, others get their faith renewed, and some come closer to our Lord Jesus.

However, what struck my heart while I was arranging some items for one of my YouTube contents was; Beyond the likes and followers, are you truly doing this for Jesus?

You see, it’s easier to say, yes, I’m doing it for Jesus because I was sent. But my question to you is: when you don’t get likes, when you make that excellent content and you don’t get subscribers? Or when only 1 person gets to watch your videos, how is the state of your heart?

Proverbs 17:3 says, The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart.

This piece today is for you in the social media space raising the banner high for Jesus. My dear friend, the drift is subtle if you don’t stay on guard. The social media space has been so heated up that most people forget the original reason they got there in the first place and are now beginning to chase after views, subscribers and monetization.

Yes, the work is laced with the name—JESUS, but underneath it, the motive has changed.

I do not write to condemn you but to remind you, Matthew 6:33—Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and ALL these that the Gentiles seek (view, subscribers, monetization etc.) will be added unto you.

This is very interesting time that everyone wants to be seen. Do not fall for the deception because the Bible says at the last days perilous time shall come, men shall be lovers of themselves. 2nd Timothy 3:1-5.

It’s going to be a me, me, me and, me thing. My pictures, my videos, my truth, a day in my life, my life lessons, my story, my this, my that. There are so many “mes” circulating the internet (not that I write to say there is an issue with it), but I want to remind you and myself on the need to guard our hearts and never lose sight of the goal.

The scripture that inspired this writing today is from the book of Matthew 7:21-23, where Jesus says, on that day, I will say, depart from me, you workers of iniquity.

Yes, you posted that content, it had Jesus on it; you posted that comment, it had Jesus on it; you made that viral video for Jesus. But underneath, was it really to win a soul for the Kingdom or it was to satisfy your fleshly desires?

This is a reminder to never forget the goal.

As you read this and you are yet to make Jesus the Lord of your life, I encourage you to consider giving him your heart. The world can give peace but not the type Jesus came to offer when He died on the cross. Heaven will celebrate your acceptance of this invitation.

If you need to discuss more on Jesus, please send me an e-mail at pleasantfeet98@gmail.com and I’ll follow up with you.

See you soon.

God bless you.
